Quite an introduction

It’s been a busy and exciting first week of school as the new Kearsney boys are introduced to the high-paced and stimulating Kearsney environment.

The Grade 8’s and other new Kearsney boys were introduced to the Kearsney way of life in their Orientation Programme, helping to familiarise the boys with the College and its workings. The boys have also been allocated their tutors and mentors, and we trust that these relationships will serve the boys well as they grow within Kearsney.

The boys have been exposed to the many and varied sports, clubs and societies which are on offer at Kearsney and have registered for those that grab their fancy. We encourage them to get involved and take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities available to them.

The boys have been giving it their all in the sports trials that have been taking place this week. The first sports fixtures begin this weekend, with swimming, cricket, basketball, water polo and canoeing all on the go. We wish them luck as they proudly represent Kearsney for the first time.

After writing their first cycle test today, the Grade 8 boys will take part in the Haley Orientation Day and on Sunday the 22 January  all the Grade 8’s will be going on the annual Alverstone Hike, which is always a fun excursion as the boys bond and get to know their new friends, prefects and staff a little better.

The first week is just about under the belt and we look forward to another wonderful year ahead. Welcome to Kearsney!
