31 August to 03 September
Our twenty-fifth annual Leadership Week was a resounding success. The venues which we visit have been carefully selected over the years and are ideally suited to each group, while the instructors based at each of these venues are professionals who ensure that the boys derive maximum benefit from the courses and have the opportunity for personal development.
The Grade 11 group embarked on a course in ‘Ethics and Leadership’, reinforcing the role and responsibility that they will shoulder in their matric year. The Grade 10s spent four days at the Shongweni Spirit of Adventure Centre, enjoying a challenging course on ‘Action Centred Leadership’, which is most appropriate for this age group. The focus of the Grade 9s’ course was ‘Being aware of the needs of others’, while the Grade 8s’ theme was ‘Standing on your own two feet’. Well done to all the boys, and the Masters who accompanied them, for a very positive and constructive week.
