Three Kearsney Old Boys in Springbok Squad
Congratulations to the du Preez brothers who play their rugby for the Sharks and have all been selected for the Springbok squad for the June internationals. This is a phenomenal achievement for each player.
Special mention should be made of flyhalf Rob du Preez (2011), pictured, on this occasion as he earns his first Springbok squad selection.
Loose forward, Jean-Luc du Preez (2013) has played in ten Tests for the Boks to date and scored two tries. Dan du Preez (2013), also a loose forward, has represented the national side on three occasions.
The Springboks are due to play a test against Wales in Washington DC on Saturday 02 June and the first of three Tests against England in Johannesburg on 09 June. Of the three players, only Daniel will travel to the USA for the Test against Wales.
We wish the brothers the best for the forthcoming Tests.

The World Rugby U20 Championship takes place in France between 30 May and 17 June, 2018. Three venues will host the tournament in the Stade Aimé Giral in Perpignan, Stade de la Méditerranée in Béziers and the Stade d’Honneur du Parc des Sports et de l’Amitié in Narbonne.

James Tedder, Kearsney College 1st XV centre, has been contracted to the Sharks U19s for next year.
Tedder was an important cog in the team’s backline this year which saw him repeatedly getting through the defence as he proved to be one of the most difficult runners to stop. After a stunning season his impressive play was capped off with being selected for the KZN Craven Week team where he stood out as a player for the future. James was also captain of Kearsney’s 1st X1 cricket team. He joins his older cousin Tristan who played flyhalf for the Sharks U19s this year.
Congratulations to Dylan Richardson (Grade 10) who attended the SA Rugby Union U16 High Performance Training Camp in Paarl during the October holidays. Dylan, who captained Kearsney’sd U16A team and played for the KZN U16 Grant Khomo team, joined fifty-eight rugby stars from around the country at this prestigious camp. Dylan has a promising rugby future ahead of him and we look forward to many more great achievements in the future.
Our congratulations to the six Kearsney boys on their provincial rugby selections (KZN 2015):
Tristan Dixon and James Tedder (KZN Craven Week) and Cameron Ritchie (KZN Academy); Dylan Richardson (KZN U16) and Matt Heard and Wandile Linda (KZN U16 Invitation Team).
