Drive. Success<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cOur school is not like any other and we need to continue to recognise what it is that makes Kearsney unique. Somebody needs to guard the gates of change and make sure that mediocrity is never allowed to replace greatness.\u201d Said Nic Bowman in his Leavers Speech in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Almost ten years on and the \u201cwe\u201d Nic was referring to is us. We the Class of 2008 wanted to give back to Kearsney to show our appreciation for the opportunities that the school gave to us. The Class of 2008 Fund and felt that it is worthy cause and we look forward to awarding a talented boy the opportunity to attend this great College and keep the \u201cGreatness\u201d alive.<\/p>\n<p>These funds are ring-fenced and invested in the Kearsney Development Fund.\u00a0 The plan is to add to this capital over the years and to see the investment grow over time and exist beyond our lifetime. \u00a0We felt this Fund will be an excellent way for the year of 2008, both boys and parents, to keep in contact with one another and, most importantly, it provides a way for the Class of 2008 to create and build a legacy.\u00a0 It is our goal to give others the same life changing experience that each of us has had at Kearsney.<\/p>\n<p>A quote from our year \u201cA good head and a good heart are a formidable combination\u201d \u2013 Nelson Mandela<\/p>\n<p>Carpe Diem!<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tab_how-the-fund-works\" class=\"panel entry-content\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-how-the-fund-works\">\n\n<h2>How the fund works<\/h2>\n<p>This fund has been established by the\u00a0Class of 2008:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All donations to this fund are tax deductible in the year the gift is received;<\/li>\n<li>All donations are invested by the Trustees of the Kearsney Development Fund in conjunction with the Fund\u2019s appointed investment managers;<\/li>\n<li>An endowed gift is commemorated in the history of the school and will provide a sustainable and ongoing fund as a source of income to support Kearsney College. Consider that in 50 or 100 years, the \u201cClass of 2008 Fund\u201d will continue to realise the dreams of a boy seeking a world class education at Kearsney.<\/li>\n<li>During the initial stages of building up an endowment, there may well be insufficient income earned to allocate a meaningful award to a deserving student or project.\u00a0 In this case the trustees will aggregate the annual income with the income earned on similar endowments such that, in aggregate, a meaningful award can be made.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>You are invited to support the Class of 2008 Fund<\/h3>\n<p>The Class of 2008 Bursary Fund aims to provide boys with a talent the opportunity to experience the camaraderie, world class education and Kearsney College life.<\/p>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\" style=\"max-width:100%;height:1px;\"><\/div>\n\n<h3>Note<\/h3>\n<p>We would like to acknowledge your gift and track safe arrival of your gift so please send us your details and a copy of your gift payment to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:foundation@kearsney.com\">foundation@kearsney.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A tax certificate is available for gifts made in SA.<\/p>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\" style=\"max-width:100%;height:1px;\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Do you wish to pledge an annuity?
