The contribution of early staff members who were a core part of Kearsney’s success needs to be recognised, as without their hard work, the school could not have flourished into the success it is today.
Patrick Mnyandu is one of these notable staff members. He entered Kearsney College as a “dhobi wallah” (laundry worker) in July 1930 at the tender age of 10 and has been with the school through all its ups and downs since then, becoming a particularly familiar figure to the denizens of Finningley, whom he served with unstinting loyalty until his death in 1971.
The record of Patrick’s journey with Kearsney College (as well as that of many other memorable contributors to the schools success) is recorded in the Centenary Publication, “Kearsney Chronicled”. This book is available to KCOB through purchase in the Shop on our AlumNet portal: https://kearsney.alumnet.co.za/Foyer
