Today we look back on last week’s memorable day on the hill; the unveiling of the Centenary Classrooms in the Kearsney College Centenary Academic Centre. Our generous donors were recognized by having plaques erected on their classrooms, engraved with an inspirational quote of their choice for our boys:
Richard and Doreen Tolken Centenary Classroom
“I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.” – Abraham Lincoln
Dedicated with thanks to Kearsney College, which was my home and family for five important years of my life.
Carmody Centenary Classroom
“The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs
Dedicated to the passionate teachers of our great school.
Kearsney College Old Boys
“The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future.” – Plato
Dedicated with thanks to the college and our many teachers and staff who impacted our lives so positively.
Kearsney Striders Athletic Club
“Every stride, as long as it’s forward, is worth the walk. Pursue it.” – Joseph Jacson Katongole
Dedicated to the founding members of Kearsney Striders, 1999.
The last room to be unveiled was our Founders Room (aptly nicknamed the “Long Room”), which is in appreciation of the bequest from founding pupil William Hulett, grandson of Sir Liege Hulett and who attended Kearney College from 1921 – 1925
It is with great pleasure that we say THANK YOU for the tremendous support we receive from these generous donors, in leaving your mark to honour the rich cultures and memories of that were established in 1921, maintain Kearsney’s legacy and secure its future.
