Kearsney College had a special Centenary Assembly on the Medworth Stand yesterday morning, 24 March 2021, with Grade 11s and 12s, guests from Ethelbert Child and Youth Centre and Standard Bank joining us for this momentous occasion.
One of the Centenary projects identified over 5 years ago, was for Kearsney to raise R100 000 towards an Early Childhood Development Centre for Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre.
The Kearsney pupils present each contributed towards this fund when they joined Kearsney in their grade 8 year and this target was successfully reached with the help of Standard bank. Standard Bank came on board as a partner, stating they would commit to investing these funds and topping up the fund with the er shortfall.
Kearsney College has had a 67-year association with Ethelbert, and it has been an absolute privilege raising these funds for such a worthy cause.
The credit card was gifted to the excited and humbled Ethelbert representees.
